What to expect at your first Appointment?

Typically your initial treatment will take around an hour and a half. I will start by doing a thorough intake of what you're coming in for, your past medical history, and then go into Chinese Medicine questions. In Chinese medicine, we believe the body is interconnected and affects every part of you.  You may get questions you have never been asked before such as sleep patterns and digestion. Once we begin the treatment, needles are typically left in the body for 20-30 minutes.

How to Prepare for Your First Treatment

  1. Fill out all paperwork ahead of time if possible. An email will be sent to you containing all the pertinent paperwork after you schedule your appointment. If you are unable to do so, please arrive 15 minutes early so that you have time to complete the paperwork before your scheduled appointment.

  2. Bring a list of all medications and/or supplements you are taking.

  3. Eat a small snack before your treatment. Needling on an empty stomach can cause needle sensitivity and the risk of dizziness or nausea.

  4. Wear comfortable and loose fitting clothes. There are over 300 acupuncture points on the body so I may need to roll up sleeves to your elbow, pants to the knee, or have access to your stomach. I do also have gowns available.

  5. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to call or email. My goal is to make your appointment as comfortable as possible for you.
